Opel GT Concept set for Geneva

Inviting the world to” take a look at Opel with a fresh pair of eyes,” the automaker has begun teasing its new GT Concept which will make its debut in March at the Geneva Auto Show. While it’s hard to tell much about the car from this first of what will clearly be several sneak peeks, GM’s European division that shares several of its products -- including the Insignia-based Regal and the new Cascada convertible -- with Buick states this upcoming one-off will be a “trendsetting” exercise that reflects “the next stage of Opel’s sculptural design philosophy.”

This new show car is thought to be based on the same platform used by the new Opel Astra. And while remaining understandably coy about any specifics, Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann has stated it will be “a concept car which you probably would not have expected from us.” Stay tuned.
