UPDATE: The 2018 Honda Accord has since been revealed, and we’ve already highlighted our five favorite things.
Earlier this month, we got our first preview drive in the all-new 2018 Honda Accord. Today, Honda released an official sketch of this tenth-generation Accord, which will make its debut in Detroit and on YouTube on July 14th. The Honda Accord has been a mainstay of the automaker’s global lineup since it was launched in 1976. In 1982, with the introduction of the second-generation model it became the first Honda and the first Japanese car of any kind to be manufactured in America. Since then the Accord has sold over 13 million units here.

While offering no new technical details about the 2018 Accord, Honda has said this midsize sedan would be fitted with a 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injected 4-cylinder engine. Depending on displacement and model, the powerplant is backed by either a 6-speed manual transmission or a new 10-speed automatic. Like the current generation, the 2018 Accord also will be available in Hybrid form. Output specs and additional details on the new Accord will be provided at the reveal.
