You can buy the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with either of two engines. But if you want more power, you need to drop the V8 from consideration. The 6-cylinder has more horsepower.

Jeep and its Dodge and Ram siblings have built their reputations on V8 power. But, with gas prices soaring, new fuel-economy regulations taking effect, and more Americans concerned about climate change, even the Hemi companies are exploring ways to get V8 power without V8 thirst.
The 2023 Grand Wagoneer is one of the first vehicles to get the new Hurricane engine. It’s an option – the well-known 6.4-liter Hemi V8 is still the base engine.
That one makes 471 horsepower. On rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Grand Wagoneer models it has an EPA rating of 13 mpg in the city and 19 on the highway. Four-wheel-drive (4WD) drops that to 13/18.
The turbocharged inline 6-cylinder Hurricane 510 gets, you guessed it, 510 horsepower. It’s rated for 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway on RWD Grand Wagoneers, and 14/20 on 4WD models.
Choosing the Hurricane adds $2,000 to the purchase price at every trim level. But the EPA estimates that over five years, it will save buyers about $3,000 in fuel costs.
