- Ram will bring a Cummins turbo diesel engine to its 2500 Power Wagon pickup for 2027.
- The combination boosts towing power but means no more winch.
Ram will add a 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel engine to its 2500 Power Wagon for 2027.
The combination means a massive torque rating of 1,075 lb-ft, Ram says, plus “a tow rating of nearly 20,000 pounds and a payload capacity of almost 3,000 pounds.”
The dimensions of the big diesel engine mean you can’t get a diesel-equipped Power Wagon with a factory-equipped winch. But the truck retains the rest of its off-road gear, including “front and rear electronic-locking differentials, Bilstein shocks, extensive underbody protection, class-exclusive five-link coil rear suspension, Hill Descent Control, Mopar accessory rock rails and class-exclusive disconnecting front stabilizer bar,” Ram says.
It starts at $88,470, including destination charge. It reaches dealerships in “the second half of 2026.”
A 31-gallon fuel tank stretches range to “an estimated 600 miles” unladen. All trucks lose up to half their range when towing, but the ability to pull a side-by-side 300 miles without a fuel stop is impressive.
It comes exclusively as a Crew Cab with a 6-foot, 4-inch bed.
