2027 Nissan Z: Style Updates, NISMO Manual

Nissan’s long-running Z sports car receives a significant update for 2027. The lineup features style updates, upgraded performance, and, for the first time, a manual transmission option on the high-performance NISMO model.

Z NISMO Receives Manual Option and Upgraded Dynamics

The biggest news comes from the top trim: the 2027 Z NISMO now offers a 6‑speed manual, paired with an upgraded clutch and revised shift lever ratio designed to deliver quicker, more precise gear changes.

The NISMO features new lightweight brake rotors that were originally developed for Nissan’s GT-R. These brakes stay cooler during performance driving, improving braking. The suspension has been adjusted to accommodate the lighter hardware, which results in smoother turns.

Design and Handling Updates for All Z models

The Nissan Z Sport and Performance trims debut a brand-new front bumper and grille design, and a new “Z” badge replaces the traditional Nissan logo. The Performance trim now includes 19-inch wheels and a new tan interior option.

All 2027 models receive a new paint option, Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic, available exclusively with a Super Black roof. Nissan states that the color draws inspiration from the green seen on the classic S30-generation Nissan Z.

The Z Performance gets new shock absorbers that Nissan says result in a “smoother ride quality and more consistent, more predictable handling performance.” Additionally, all models in the 2027 Nissan Z lineup receive redesigned fuel tanks that ensure fuel flows properly during sharp turns.

2027 Nissan Z Release Date

We can expect the 2027 Nissan Z lineup to arrive at dealerships this summer. Nissan will announce pricing closer to launch.

However, it’s important to note that Nissan Z models will be scarce at dealerships. Nissan representatives have stated that they expect most Z sales to come from customized orders. To prevent overstocking, dealerships will see fewer Zs on their lots.
