The 2027 Lexus RX is due to hit dealers’ lots this fall, and it will arrive with a slight price increase over the previous model year. Being able to afford the newest is nice, but the luxury SUV didn’t receive significant updates for the 2027 model year, which could make a leftover 2026 RX a value pick for buyers.
Lexus issued one update for the 2027 RX: red brake calipers for the F Sport Handling and Performance trim levels.

In comparison, the 2026 RX started at $52,775 and topped out at $68,450 for the top trim level.
While the new Lexus NX went all-hybrid, all the time, the 2027 RX retains a base gas powertrain option. It includes a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, making 275 horsepower and 217 lb-ft of torque. Gas models are available with front-wheel (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), and an 8-speed automatic transmission comes standard.
The RX 350h pairs a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with an electric motor to produce 246 hp and 233 lb-ft of torque, while the 450h+ plug-in hybrid SUV offers the same engine and a 38-mile electric driving range. At the top of the RX lineup, the 500h F Sport Performance model pairs a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with an 80-kW eAxle system, producing a combined 366 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque.
Lexus equips a 12.3-inch touchscreen as standard, along with a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad and rear USB Type-C charging ports. F Sport models have exclusive interior accents, such as a sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals, metal trim pieces, and red stitching.
Standard safety gear includes the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which has automatic high beams, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and more.
It’s always tempting to spring for the newest model of a vehicle you want, but this is one case where it could be wiser to shop the previous year. As the new 2027 RX starts landing on dealers’ lots, many will offer discounts on the 2026 model, which could save thousands compared to the newer RX.
