- The 2026 Toyota Tundra gets some flashy upgrades like new leather and optional exoskeleton seats
- It also gets practical changes like a larger fuel tank and standard tow hitch
Toyota’s Tundra full-size pickup isn’t due for a major update in 2026. But Toyota has made a raft of adjustments, ranging from practical to stylish, that should help it appeal to more buyers.
The headline-grabber is an available set of shock-absorbing exoskeleton seats. You’ll have to buy the pricey, off-road-oriented TRD Pro to get them, but they’re an eye-catching addition. Also eye-catching is a new exterior paint color option.
Every year, Toyota’s TRD Pro editions get an exclusive paint color that the automaker doesn’t use on any other vehicles. This year, it’s a pearlescent Carolina blue the company calls Wave Maker.
The 2026 Tundra TRD Pro also gains the option of Iso-Dynamic seats. First seen on the Tacoma TRD Pro, these provide shock absorption for the driver and front passenger during rough off-roading. They also look like comic book superhero gear, which is cool.
The high-end Capstone model gets a new interior with Shale premium textured leather seats. Mid-priced Limited trims get real leather instead of faux leather for 2026, in “a new pattern with black leather seat surfaces featuring white stitching and gray leather seat surfaces adorned with black stitching.”
In more practical news, every Tundra trim gains a tow hitch and 7/4-pin trailer connector as standard equipment. Double Cab models get rear seat vents (a particularly welcome change). Toyota has eliminated the 22.5-gallon fuel tank previously standard on SR and SR5 models. Every 2026 Tundra will get the previously optional 32.2-gallon tank instead.
