There’s good news if you’re considering the latest version of the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid: Its price has dropped compared to last year’s model. It now starts at $42,950, including the $1,450 destination fee included.
This price change stands out significantly compared to last year’s model, which also marked the final year of that generation. The 2025 RAV4 PHEV started at $45,660.
The Toyota RAV4 lineup is entirely new for 2026, and has come out the gate strong, winning our Best Buy Award among compact SUVs. All models now use a hybrid powertrain, either a standard (non-plug-in) powertrain, or a plug-in version that gives the ability to travel up to 52 miles on battery power alone before the gas engine kicks in. That’s 10 better than last year.
More Trims, More Power
Toyota also expands the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid lineup, offering four trims vs. the previous two. It continues with the base SE and premium XSE trims and introduces new Woodland and GR Sport options. The Woodland is Toyota’s more rugged, outdoorsy trim. The GR Sport is the result of a collaboration with Toyota’s racing division, Gazoo, and features a sportier design and driving experience.
The price drop doesn’t indicate a lack of performance, either. The 2026 RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid produces 324 net combined horsepower, even higher than the already-impressive 302 hp in the 2025 model.
The 2026 RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is expected to arrive at dealerships this spring.
