- Pricing starts at $33,690 for new base model
- Limited-production WRX Series.Yellow trim joins lineup
Subaru has announced pricing for the 2026 WRX sports sedan, headlined by the return of a base model that starts at $33,690 (including a mandatory $1,195 destination fee). In a market where traditional sedans — especially sporty ones — are becoming increasingly rare, this update is a welcome and refreshing development.
The 2026 WRX goes on sale this spring and will be available in six trims, with price reductions across trims compared to the 2025 edition. The Premium trim starts at $35,190, a significant $3,730 off last year’s model. The WRX tS sits at the top of the lineup at $46,190, $2,685 less than last year’s model. For the limited-edition Series.Yellow, Subaru brings back Sunrise Yellow, a hallmark color featured on the WRX STI S207. This upgrade is available on the tS trim, adding $1,000 for the privilege of having one of only 350 units.
Powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out 271-hp, the WRX continues to provide plenty of thrills. Upping its enthusiast cred, a 6-speed manual transmission is standard on the WRX, and an automatic is available in the Limited and GT trims. A Subaru staple, all WRX models are all-wheel drive.
Inside, the WRX is equipped with the 11.6-inch touchscreen that includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other creature comforts include keyless entry, push-button start, welcome lighting, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The WRX features Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist technology and the DriverFocus distraction-mitigation system. The suite includes features like adaptive cruise control with lane centering, lane departure and sway warning, and pre-collision braking. This means that the WRX is the very rare vehicle with a manual transmission and stress-relieving driver aids like adaptive cruise control.
