- For 2026, the Nissan Z sports coupe gains a ’90s throwback Heritage Edition
- NISMO Z models could also get the option of a manual transmission
Just last month, The New York Times asked, “Why are we doomed to keep reliving the ’90s?”
Now, Nissan has decided to torture them. Welcome back, bronze wheels.
The 2026 Nissan Z will be offered in a throwback edition unashamedly celebrating the days of Alanis Morissette and Dunkaroos in lunch boxes. The Z Heritage Edition salutes its beloved 300Z predecessor with “visual enhancements that evoke the 1990s.” They include 19-inch bronze wheels, a retro-font “twin turbo” decal low on the doors, and a glorious Midnight Purple paint job.
It’s available only on the mid-grade Performance trim, and adds $2,940 to the price. The purple one will set you back $57,155 with delivery fee.
There’s one other big change for 2026, and it’s welcome news even if you don’t miss scrunchies and grunge. The high-performance NISMO model gains an additional 20 horsepower, now putting out 420.
Automotive News, citing comments from Nissan Americas Chairman Christian Meunier, reports that a 6-speed stick shift will also appear on the NISMO model. One is already offered in the other Z trims.
2026 Nissan Z Pricing
Prices include a mandatory $1,245 destination fee. Nissan often charges a small additional fee to ship to Alaska or Hawaii, but hasn’t mentioned it on the Z this year. Shoppers there should not be surprised if shipping is slightly higher. The 2026 Nissan Z will reach dealerships later this month.
