The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder will roll into the new year with more standard features and a mild spritz to its front end, Nissan announced Thursday. The refreshed 3-row midsize SUV will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week and go on sale early in 2026. It also serves as a bellwether of Nissan’s recovery plan that includes 10 new or updated models by 2027 between it and its luxury brand, Infiniti.

The refreshed Pathfinder promises to be a better value with more standard equipment, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The midlevel SL grade gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as standard. Available technology includes quicker wireless device charging and a cooling fan to chill the charge on such devices.

An available surround-view camera has more cameras for more views, including a 180-degree view from the front, which Nissan says can aid in pulling out of garages. Another view sees virtually through the hood and what’s under the front axle, which helps when off-roading or navigating the late-night drive-thru at Taco Bell.

On the outside, the face has a more rakish, swept-back look than the 2025 Pathfinder. More pronounced running lights visually bend through the headlight housing and flank the grille with three illuminated slats on either side. Vertical air intakes, presumably more cosmetic than functional, box the front ends.

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder is powered by a 284-horsepower V6 engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). It can tow 3,500 pounds, but upgrading to the Premium package on certain trims boosts towing capacity to 6,000 pounds, which is one of the higher numbers in its class.

Nissan looks to the Pathfinder to climb out of fiscal mismanagement that started with infamous former top executive Carlos Ghosn, whose tabloid-worthy escape from justice started in 2018. More recently, in 2024, Nissan slashed production, factories, and jobs in an effort to reduce ballooning costs. Early in 2025, merger talks between Honda and Nissan stalled.

Offered once again in S, SV, Rock Creek, SL, and Platinum trims, the 2026 Nissan Pathfinder goes on sale early in 2026. Nissan hasn’t announced pricing, but midway through the last model year, it cut prices by $670 to $1,170 on the Pathfinder. Including destination, the 2025 Pathfinder costs between $38,000 and $52,000. Expect a slight bump for 2026.
