Mazda has just released pricing for the 2026 MX-5 Miata, and there’s not a dramatic increase for the new model year, all things considered. Pricing starts at $31,665, including the $1,235 destination fee. That is just $600 more than the 2025 model.

In a period where tariffs are impacting prices, this isn’t unreasonable.

There aren’t a whole lot of changes to the 2026 MX-5 Miata. The new model year focuses on upgrades to the interior, including new black Alcantara interior trim, contrast stitching, and black accents for Club models equipped with the Brembo BBS Recaro package, which comes standard on the RF retractable roof version.

The MX-5 Miata continues to use a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. The standard 6-speed manual transmission carries over and is the only option on the Sport and Club Models, while the Grand Touring model offers a choice of the manual or an automatic transmission.

Even with the modest price increase, it’s important to keep in mind that the MX-5 Miata remains one of the most affordable sports cars on the market. Arguably its most direct competitor, Toyota’s GR86, starts at $32,395. The Subaru’s BRZ, a twin to the GR86, starts at $37,055. As you can see, the Miata MX-5 is holding its own by staying affordable.

Here are the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) for the 2026 Mazda MX-5 Miata, including the $1,235 destination fee ($1,280 in Alaska).
