Cadillac is now shipping its newest electric SUV, the 2026 Vistiq, to dealerships. Company reps call it “Baby Escalade” with a wink, thanks to its styling, proportions, and level of luxury. Is this wishful thinking, or will the Vistiq follow the Escalade’s path to cultural relevance?

Driving Impressions:
We drove the Vistiq Sport trim model over various roads in southeastern Michigan in the late spring, a time commonly known as “Pothole Season.” The Vistiq demonstrated superb road manners, gracefully swallowing bumps and rough textures (and even a little bit of unpaved gravel road). It feels planted and displays little body roll through corners. Like other electric vehicles (EVs), it is fast off the line, accelerating smoothly and predictably. A “Velocity Max” button on the steering wheel accesses maximum power for a few seconds, which can be a blast but doesn’t feel necessary for everyday driving.
Exterior:
The Vistiq’s exterior fits in with the other Cadillac all-electric SUVs while establishing a high-end look of its own. The body wears distinctive signature lighting, a prominent grille, 21- to 23-inch wheels (depending on trim level), and tasteful brightwork. The proportions are just right, with small overhangs front and rear.
Interior:
The interior has a tailored feel, with quality materials and construction. The front center console is a little beefy, stealing some knee room from the driver and front passenger, but that may only be a concern for taller occupants. All three rows get comfort and convenience features, including a 5-zone climate control system and ample seat padding.
The Wrap:
Whether you call it a “Baby Escalade” or an “Electric XT6,” the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq fills a 3-row luxury EV niche that will soon become more crowded. While it can easily hit six figures in the top trim levels with options, the entry-level trims come with many of the most attractive features in standard form.
