You know an automaker is happy with what it has built when the update for a new model year amounts to “We moved the badge and are offering a new color.”
For 2025, Toyota will move the badge on some Corolla Cross SUVs. Other major changes include…it says here…the shark fin antenna on some models will now be black instead of body color, and a new paint color — Soul Red Crystal — is exclusive to the lineup.
The Corolla Cross and its Corolla Cross Hybrid twin aren’t changing much for the new model year because they shouldn’t. Our test drivers praise the ‘Crosses for their easy-driving demeanor, that bulletproof Toyota reputation (and resale value), and reasonable prices.
With a pedigree that good, Toyota sees little reason for significant changes. For 2025, Toyota will darken the antenna and mirror caps on some trims of the Corolla Cross, move the hybrid badge to the tailgate, and introduce the Soul Red Crystal exterior paint color. Otherwise, the 2025 models are the 2024 models.
Prices rise slightly to compensate for inflation. That means that, should you find a 2024 edition on a dealership lot, you can save a few hundred dollars by buying that one instead of a 2025. But these are in high enough demand that you’re unlikely to find a leftover near you.
