The 2025 Mini Convertible joins the updated Mini Cooper family with new style, features, and trim lines. Two versions will be available at launch, but a higher-performance model is also coming.
Not Your Typical Convertible
The Mini Convertible’s most significant difference from other Cooper models is the roof, which can open automatically in 18 seconds at speeds up to 18.6 mph and close in just 15 seconds.
If you don’t want the full open-top experience, the roof can open partially, like a sunroof. The Convertible has an on-board Always Open Timer that tracks the car’s total top-down time.
Sporty, Getting Sportier Soon
U.S.-market Mini Convertibles will get a choice of two engines at launch. The base model gets a 161-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. The Cooper S model’s output is turned up to 201 hp. A John Cooper Works version is coming, with details expected soon.
The base model Convertible accelerates to 60 mph in 7.9 seconds, while the Cooper S Convertible takes 6.7 seconds.
Unique Interior Treatments
The new Mini Convertible comes in two trim variants: Classic Style and Favoured Style. Buyers can choose from 11 paint color options.
Interior design and feature updates include a new high-resolution OLED display and a redesigned toggle switch bar. Depending on the trim chosen, the cabin gets unique elements.
The Classic Style gets leather-look accents with contrast stitching, a knitted instrument panel surface, and seats in Vescin synthetic leather.
For the Favoured Style, on the other hand, the Convertible’s cabin gets a houndstooth fabric instrument panel housing and knitted door panels, JCW sport seats with perforated synthetic leather and contrast stitching, and embroidered Mini logos.
