The only electric Lexus is about to get a lot less expensive. The 2025 Lexus RZ will start at $43,975, including a mandatory destination and handling fee – fully $11,200 less than the $55,175 starting price of the 2024 edition.
The change comes thanks to a new base model. The RZ comes in a front-wheel drive (FWD) model called the RZ300e and an all-wheel drive (AWD) model called the RZ450e. For 2024, the entry point for both is the Premium trim. For 2025, each will get a new unnamed base model.
It foregoes some creature comforts like ventilated front seats, driver’s seat memory settings, a panoramic view monitor, and the electrochromic panoramic glass roof we love in the RZ. But that seems like a fair trade for a four-figure discount.
Other trim levels get a price cut, too. Each is $7,000 less expensive for 2025.
FWD 300e models also get a mechanical improvement for the new model year. Lexus has fitted a new subframe that “suppresses vibrations and noise, contributing to a smooth and quiet ride.” AWD 450e models don’t get that upgrade because their rear-axle motor sits in its place.
