The 2025 Hyundai Sonata will carry a lower starting price than the 2024 model it replaces. However, the discount is partly an illusion. It comes because Hyundai will introduce a new base model to the Sonata lineup.
The Sonata SE will be the new entry point, but it won’t be a spartan model. Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a proximity key, USB-C ports for front and back seat passengers, and automatic headlights. Savings come from fitting 16-inch alloy wheels (the SEL gets 17-inch hoops) and from making most of the driver assistance features optional.
Hyundai also added a second new trim, SEL Convenience. All of its features were available in the 2024 model but are packaged as a trim level for the new model year.
Otherwise, there are no substantial changes for 2025. The Sonata received a significant facelift for 2024, including a new lights-forward look with a horizontal line of LEDs stretching across the entire front fascia. So, the sedan does not need much updating.
