The 2023 Toyota Highlander starts at $36,620. The 2024 Toyota Highlander will begin at $39,120. A $2,500 price jump between model years seems significant.
But this jump is mostly an illusion. It comes because Toyota has trimmed the bare-bones Highlander L from the lineup for 2024.
The Highlander is consistently one of America’s best-selling SUVs, but few were buying its bare-bones base model. So, Toyota won’t bother building the L for 2024.
The new LE base model costs $100 more in 2024 than in 2023. That’s a more accurate headline – the Highlander is changing very little for the new model year.
The unusual Bronze Edition, with its seats patterned like fine china, drops from the lineup.
Highlander Hybrid buyers get the option of Toyota’s Nightshade styling treatment. It adds a blackened grille, wheels, mirror caps, and badges to the LE or XLE trim. XLE Nightshade buyers also get black leather seats trimmed in silver.
