2024 Toyota 4Runner Gets Modest Price Bump, Rust-Colored TRD Pro Model

The Toyota 4Runner is one of the oldest designs available on any car in the 2024 model year. With some models, we’d say that as a complaint. But with the 4Runner, we’re tipping our hat.

Our expert test driver says Toyota’s off-road-focused midsize SUV “is old, but so is the terrain it was born to conquer.” The truck-based 4Runner celebrated its 40th birthday last year with a glorious ’80s throwback edition. But it didn’t see 40 as a reason to change its ways.

The 4Runner heads into the 2024 model year on the platform it has used since 2010. In fact, it gets almost no substantial changes beyond a new color and a new price.

The new color, however, is a triumph.

Every year, Toyota debuts a new exclusive color for the TRD Pro off-road edition. Some years, it’s uninspired. 2017’s Cement Gray (its actual name) was a low point.

For 2024, though, Toyota has made a fantastic choice. Called Terra, it’s a gorgeous orange-brown that shines like melted chocolate. In a world of grayscale cars, it will stand out. And on a muddy trail, it will hide the splashes. There just aren’t enough metallic brown cars, and the old man looks great in Earth tones.

With so few changes, Toyota has restrained itself — every trim level of 4Runner gets just a $300 price bump for 2024. Toyota also charges a mandatory $1,395 delivery fee on every 4Runner.
