Screen With 9K Resolution, New Embroidery

“Inside, the XT4 has a more tech-forward ambiance with a redesign of the instrument panel that incorporates a bold, 33-inch-diagonal LED display,” Cadillac says. The company unveiled the screen at the CES consumer electronics show two years ago with a promise that it would make its way across the entire Cadillac lineup. But, until now, it’s been sold only in the Lyriq electric vehicle. It has a stunning resolution of 9K and uses graphics developed in consultation with video game designers.

The entertainment system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and includes both Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant built-in.

The big screen isn’t the only change inside. Cadillac also promises “fashionable embroidery patterns on the seating and a feeling of first-row spaciousness.” There’s no indication that the seats themselves are new. That feeling of spaciousness may come from redesigning the dashboard to accommodate the massive screen.

Cadillac hasn’t announced pricing yet. The 2023 model starts at $36,295.

New Lighting, No Mechanical Changes

The outside gets a more modest update. A lighting redesign keeps the vertical LEDs that serve as a Cadillac signature but moves the headlamps to their lower ends. Each trim now gets its own grille.

Mechanically, everything stays the same for 2024. The XT4 uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 235 horsepower. It sends power to the front wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive (AWD) is optional.

Cadillac continues to package many advanced driver aids in a separate Active Safety Package, which isn’t offered on the base Luxury Trim. Buyers of the Sport and Premium Luxury trims can add it. It includes adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, and similar automated safety assists for an added fee.
