2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Starts at $43,550

2022 Mercedes-Benz C-ClassThe venerable Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been thoroughly redesigned for 2022. It features the largest interior dimensions in its class, truly stunning cabin design, and a boost technology borrowed from Mercedes’ Formula 1 racing operation that puts a burst of additional horsepower at the driver’s disposal when needed.

It also gets a healthy price boost to go with its new look and tech.

The 2022 C-Class will start at $43,550, plus a $1,050 delivery fee. Prices rise to $49,500 for a top-of-the-line Pinnacle trim with Mercedes’ well-regarded 4Matic all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

That’s a significant increase. The 2021 C-Class started at $41,600. It’s also a bit of a gamble for Mercedes. Its natural rivals are both cheaper. The 2022 BMW 3 Series starts at $41,450, while the 2022 Audi A4 undercuts them both, starting at $39,900.

But the added cash gets buyers a few new toys. It’s the first car in its class to use a Formula-1-style electric Integral Starter Generator, which provides a 20-horsepower boost on demand. Mercedes has also packed the C-Class with technologies borrowed from its S-Class big brother, including a fingerprint sensor that adjusts everything from seat position to audio settings to the driver’s custom preferences.

Will shoppers be willing to pay more for a video-game-style speed boost and a higher level of cabin technology? Time will tell. But we like the odds.
