Here’s something we don’t get the chance to report often: The price of a new car has gone down.
The 2022 Lincoln Aviator will cost $5 less than the 2021 Lincoln Aviator. For the base model, that is. Nearly every model of Aviator has seen its price cut more, however. Most by more than the cost of a cup of coffee.
The Aviator was last redesigned for the 2020 model year. Based on the platform of the Ford Explorer, it’s known for a tech-heavy interior and some of the most comfortable seats in any midsize SUV. Lincoln has changed very little about the Aviator for the 2022 model year – adding wireless charging capability to the mid-level Reserve trim and shuffling equipment between a few options packages.
And, remarkable in a year of heavy inflation, the company has cut the price of all but one model. The upscale Black Label version has seen a price increase of $105. The top-of-the-line Black Label Grand Touring model, meanwhile, gets a $980 price cut.

Lincoln also charges a $1,195 destination fee on every Aviator. That’s $100 more than last year’s delivery price. Most destination charges have increased this year, thanks in part to higher fuel prices and a shortage of delivery drivers.
