All-New 2022 Lexus LX 600 SUV Starts Under $87,000

Lexus has announced pricing for the 2022 version of its flagship SUV. Lexus shoppers will be happy to see that prices have barely increased from the 2021 model. Toyota shoppers may also be pleased; though Toyota has removed its Land Cruiser large SUV from the American market, the Lexus based on that vehicle is not much more expensive than the outgoing Land Cruiser was.

Toyota designed an all-new version of its beloved Land Cruiser off-roader but elected not to bring that model to America. 2022 marks the first year in more than five decades without a new Land Cruiser for sale in the States.

But Toyota used the new Land Cruiser as the basis for the flagship Lexus SUV. The all-new LX 600 replaces the outgoing LX 570 at the top of the Lexus SUV lineup.

The base LX 600 starts at $86,900, plus a $1,345 destination fee. That’s just $320 more than the LX 570 it replaces. It’s just $1,485 more than the 2021 Land Cruiser – of which there are nearly none left on dealership lots.

The LX 600, as befits a Land Cruiser in leather, is powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 making 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Power passes through a 10-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels. It uses off-road-worthy body-on-frame construction, with adjustable ride height and suspension to allow for a compliant on-road ride and capable off-road handling.

Drivers can select from several terrain modes or let the SUV do it for them. Crawl Control works just like cruise control off-road.

Inside, drivers get a digital instrument display. While most cars use a single central touchscreen for all entertainment and climate functions, the LX 600 uses two – a 12.3-inch model above for navigation and entertainment, and a 7-inch screen below for comfort settings.
