2021 Ram 1500 Offers Snow Plow Prep Package

  • Package comes with 220-amp alternator, snow plow wiring, and power-sliding rear window with defroster
  • Prep package costs $195
  • Available on some V8 or diesel-powered 4WD Ram 1500 models

By the time the next snow season starts, you’ll be able to use your Ram to plow roads and driveways. With the 2021 model-year Ram 1500, Ram Truck is the latest automaker to offer a snow plow prep option for its half-ton trucks. For an added cost of $195, the package includes a 220-amp alternator, a truck side plow wiring harness, and a power-sliding rear window with defroster. This package deletes the truck’s regular active air dam, allowing for the snow plow mounts.

The prep package goes on sale later in 2020. It will be available on the 4-wheel drive 2021 Ram 1500 Tradesman, Big Horn, and Laramie models with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 (with or without eTorque) or the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6. The snow plow, mounts, and controller are sold separately, but several models are available for half-ton trucks.
