2021 Mazda MX-5 Miata Gets Price Changes, Gorgeous White Leather Cabin

Don’t Mess with happy. Mazda knows. The Mazda MX-5 Miata roadster holds a special place in the hearts of millions, and its own unchallenged niche in the automotive market. The current MX-5 (the little droptop’s official name, which few use) enjoys a reputation as fun-to-drive, relatively inexpensive, reliable, and almost without a rival. If you want a 2-seat convertible at anything less than luxury car prices, you’re shopping the Miata (and yes, the Fiat 124 Spider is an option also…but it’s literally a Miata, built by Mazda for Fiat).

For 2021, Mazda isn’t going to mess, much, with a good thing.

Changes for the new model year are small. The base model adds Apple Carplay and Android Auto, which higher trims already had.  Some prices go up, and some down. The base Sport model sees a $250 increase to an MSRP of $27,775. The top-of-the-line Grand Touring sees a price drop of $100. It’s now $32,715 for the soft top and $35,570 with the retractable hardtop.  All other trim levels keep 2020 pricing.

Oh, and there’s one more change – a new White Nappa Leather interior option arrives. Ordinarily, we’d argue against it, on the grounds that the color could show its age quickly and risk a lower resale value. But, well, look at it.
