More power and range

The front-drive Hyundai Ioniq EV is rated at 134 horsepower and 218 lb-ft of torque. A switch from a 28 to 38.3 kW lithium-ion battery pack results in the 34-percent increase in range and 16 horsepower bump in output.

Hyundai says the extended range results in an EPA efficiency rating of 133 combined MPGe for the Ioniq EV. The company adds that using a 100 kW DC fast charging can replenish 80 percent of the battery’s range in 54 minutes.

Hyundai is also working the Amazon Home Services to arrange the purchase of home charging stations installed by licensed electricians backed by Amazon’s Happiness Guarantee.
