Subaru announced pricing on its 2019 Subaru WRX/WRX STI models and introduced a new Series.Gray edition. Other upgrades for the new model year include EyeSight Driver Assist tech being made standard on WRX models equipped with the CVT and a power boost to STI variants. A new infotainment system also boasts Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The standard 2019 Subaru WRX models come with a 268-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter flat 4-cylinder engine with all-wheel drive and active torque vectoring along with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 2019 model will start at $28,080. Premium models start at $30,380 for a 6-speed manual or $32,280 when equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission. WRX Limited versions are priced at $32,680 for the manual and $34,580 with the CVT.
Bumped output
WRX STI models now see 310 horsepower from a turbocharged 2.5-liter flat four, thanks to a new air intake and high flow performance exhaust. In addition, the 6-speed manual transmission benefits from a revised third gear which helps to quicken the car’s acceleration. All WRX STI models come with a 6-speed manual only and start at $37,480. Limited models start $42,280 and offer buyers a choice between a high rear wing or low profile trunk spoiler. All prices include $885 delivery.
Subaru is also offering a new Series.Gray model which is painted in a Cool Gray Khaki exterior finish, exclusive black silica badging, foldable exterior mirrors and 19-inch black alloy wheels. The Brembo brake calipers are finished in silver. Inside, there’s Ultrasuede upholstery with black leather side bolsters and a Ultrasuede covered steering wheel with red stitching. The 2019 Subaru WRX STI Series.Gray is priced at $39,695.
