Ram has announced updates to its 2019 Ram ProMaster Van by offering three new models and boosting payload and towing capabilities. The new vans will be distinguished by a new front fascia integrating the Ram grille theme carried over from the division’s pickups.
“Ram has taken a larger presence in the commercial vehicle market with the help of our Ram ProMaster and Ram ProMaster City,” Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand – FCA. “Our van offerings answer the key segment demands with class-exclusive features, greater capability and low total cost of ownership.”
New models
The three new models added to the lineup include ProMaster 2500 Cargo Van with a low roof and ProMaster 3500 Cargo Vans in low and high roof configurations. All these new models ride on 136-inch wheelbases.

Ram said payload of the ProMaster was also increased by as much as 240 pounds with a class leading maximum rating of 4,680 pounds on the 3500 version. The ProMaster 1500 can now haul 4,000 pounds, while the 2500 can carry 4,230 pounds of cargo. Towing capability is said to be up 30 percent, with a towing capability of up to 6,800 pounds. A Class IV receiver hitch with 4- and 7-pin wiring harnesses is now available.
Front-drive layout
The front-drive vans are powered by a 280-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the new grille treatment, other updates include polycarbonate side rear windows available on high roof models, while low roof models can be equipped with side rear windows with steel grates. The vans also come with black bumpers, side panels and optional black wheels.

Pricing starts at $25,740 for the 2019 Ram ProMaster City Cargo Van. The Wagon version goes for $27,490, while the low-roof 118-inch wheelbase 2019 Ram ProMaster 1500 Cargo Van is priced from $31,850. All prices include $1,545 delivery.
