Ram is bringing back its popular-selling Lone Star Edition as part of its completely redesigned 2019 light-duty pickup truck lineup. The Fiat Chrysler Automobile truck brand revealed the 2019 Ram 1500 Lone Star model at the Dallas Auto Show and it will go on sale to Texas customers only by the end of the first quarter.
Ram began offering a Lone Star package in 2002, which was the first truck built exclusively for the Texas market by any manufacturer. Ram has sold more than a quarter million since. More pickups are sold in Texas than any other state and Ram says its Lone Star Edition represents more than half of its light duty pickup mix there.
The 2019 Ram 1500 Lone Star is distinguished from other Ram models by bright chrome front and back bumpers and a bright chrome grille surround, which accentuates the new face of the 2019 Ram. Chrome also is added to the door handle centers and the truck sports 18-inch aluminum wheels. Other standard features include fog lamps, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and a 60/40-split rear bench seat.

The trucks also receive a special Lone Star tailgate and interior badges. The cabin features premium materials and more technology, including a supersized 12-inch infotainment touchscreen. Ram is offering four interior trims and the option of a front bench seat to accommodate up to six passengers over the standard front bucket seats.
Ram also is offering several ways to customize the Lone Star Edition in looks or equipment. Buyers can choose monochromatic Sport or Black appearance packages and function packages including Bed Utility Group, 4×4 Off-road Group, Protection Group, Trailer Tow Mirrors and Brake Group, Max Towing Package and Premium Lighting Group. Other options include an active-level air suspension, electric-locking rear axle, blind-spot monitoring and 20-inch aluminum wheels.
The 2019 Lone Star will first be available with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8, as well as a V8 equipped with the eTorque mild hybrid system aimed to boost fuel economy. Later in the year, a 3.6-liter V6 with eTorque will be offered. The vehicle is available in crew and quad cab configurations and comes in either 2- or 4-wheel drive and two bed lengths of 5 feet 7 inches or 6 feet 4 inches. Pricing will be announced later.
