Ram Truck is offering for the first time a limited-edition Kentucky Derby Edition of its all-new 2019 Ram 1500 pickup in time to celebrate the popular horse race on Saturday, May 5. FCA’s truck brand is offering the special truck, which will be limited to 2,000 units, as part of its affiliation with the race, in its 144th running. Ram Truck is beginning its ninth year as the Official Truck of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby.
“The close ties between Ram trucks and the equine community have led us to the introduction of the 2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition,” said Mike Manley, who heads the Ram brand. “The Ram 1500 is a no-compromise truck that delivers capability, durability, technology and safety and is well-suited to meet the needs of all kinds of owners, including those who love horses.”
Starting with Ram’s Limited trim, the appearance package adds accents such as unique Derby “Run for the Roses” graphics on the rear quarter panels. The logo features a gold-looking horseshoe shape enclosing a red rose. Kentucky is spelled out in white and Derby in a gold hue. The front of the Derby Edition features the Limited’s chrome mesh grille and Ram badge, chromed 20-inch wheels (22-inchers are optional) tow hooks, mirrors and door handles.

High-end interior
Outfitted with an Uconnect 12-inch touchscreen, the limited-run Kentucky Derby Edition features a premium interior with heated and cooled leather seats, including rear seats that recline. The interior also is decked out in real wood and metal trim. Other features include auto-leveling suspension, power running boards, trailer hitch with sway control and a blind spot monitor with automatic trailer detection.
The special crew cab truck will be available in either 4×2 or 4×4 configurations with a 5-foot-7-inch bed. Six exterior color choices are available for Kentucky Derby Edition including a new Ivory White Tri Coat paint plus Delmonico Red, Diamond Black Crystal, Granite Crystal, Max Steel and Patriot Blue. Ram 1500 Limited interior comes in Indigo/Light Frost or all-black.
The 2019 Ram 1500 Limited features a 5.7-liter V8 engine delivering 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to an automatic 8-speed transmission. The Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition is available now, starting at $53,190, plus $1,645 delivery.
