Images of the redesigned 2019 Jeep Cherokee were released by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in advance of the vehicle’s launch at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. The new front end of the Cherokee replaces the previous slit-eyed look that used daytime running lamps flanking the top of the grille. In their place are more conventional headlamp units giving the Cherokee a look more closely aligned with the rest of the Jeep model range.

While crossover SUVs have been popular in the market, the Cherokee has struggled and FCA has put a lot of incentive dollars behind it. Current discounts on the 2018 model range from $500 to $4,000 with 0- to 2.9-percent financing available, while 2017 models have rebates going as high as $5,000.

In addition to the facelift, Jeep said there are also powertrain upgrades and a redesigned cabin with more premium materials. More details on the 2019 Jeep Cherokee will be released during the Jan. 16 press conference.
