Hyundai has released an image of the new 2019 Santa Fe crossover SUV ahead of its launch next month at the Geneva Motor Show. The 3-row crossover SUV sports a wider, more elegant grille and promises to offer more room than its predecessor thanks to its more generous dimensions.

The Korean auto maker said the all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will ride on a longer wheelbase and measure 187.8 inches overall. At 74.4 inches, it is also wider than the vehicle it replaces. This is the fourth generation of the largest vehicle in Hyundai’s product portfolio.

In addition to the new grille design, the Santa Fe sports new daytime running lamps and lower twin headlamps, a look that recalls the previous generation Jeep Cherokee. The all-new interior features a twin cockpit design with a free-standing infotainment module attached to the center of the dash. Hyundai said the new cabin’s horizontal design adds to the roominess and outward visibility and will utilize premium quality materials.

Among the safety features offered on the 2019 Santa Fe will be the company’s SmartSense technology, which includes rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, a Hyundai first. When reversing out of areas with low visibility, the system not only warns the driver if vehicles approach from the side – it also applies the brakes automatically. Another new feature is Safety Exit Assist, which temporarily locks the doors when vehicles are approaching from behind to avoid passengers getting out or opening the doors in front of passing cars.
