Following the introduction of the high performance 2019 Hyundai Veloster N, the Korean automaker is expanding its lineup of performance-oriented N models with the addition of the 2019 Elantra GT N Line model. This newest trim level replaces the previous 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport.
It’s the first of a new series of “N Line” products that will be positioned between base models and higher performing pure “N” models. In addition, Hyundai will offer parts and accessories from N Option that can be applied to vehicles across all trim levels.
Positioned against models like the Honda Civic Si and Volkswagen Golf GTI, the 5-door hatchback 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT N Line carries over the GT Sport’s 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that makes 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. That powerplant drives the front wheels through a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The base 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT carries over with its 2.0-liter normally aspirated 4-cylinder engine which makes 161 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque.
N Line upgrades
The new Elantra GT N Line can be distinguished by its more aggressive looks thanks to a front spoiler, a unique grille, blacked-out side mirrors with built-in turn signals, N Line badging, specific 18-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/40 R18 summer tires. At the rear, the Elantra GT N Line wears a unique rear fascia that accentuates the N theme.
Inside, the cabin is fitted with a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel with metallic spokes, N Line heated leather sports seats with enhanced bolstering, red stitching, N Line badging and accents that differentiate it from the standard Elantra GT.
Among the mechanical improvements are enhancements to the suspension over the previous GT Sport model it replaces. These changes include stiffer engine and transmission mounts, stiffer springs and roll bars and revised calibration of the shocks and steering. Along with stickier Michelin tires, Hyundai promises a higher level of handling performance.

Options, pricing
Among the available features on the 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT N Line are smart cruise control with stop/start capability, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keep assist and driver attention warning. Other options include a Tech package that includes a panoramic sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen with navigation, ventilated seats, Infinity premium audio and wireless phone charging.
Pricing for the base GT starts at $20,450, while the new GT N Line begins at $23,300 for models equipped with a 6-speed manual. The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is $1,100 more and all prices exclude delivery of $885. The 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT and GT N Line are on sale now.
