Called the new performance flagship for the brand, the 2019 Aston Martin DB11 AMR was revealed at the company’s performance center at the famed Nürburgring race circuit in Germany. The DB11 AMR boasts a more powerful V12 engine, a deeper exhaust note and improved handling characteristics.
The AMR name is inspired by Aston Martin Racing and the competition pedigree shows through the new DB11 range topper. The twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 engine produces 630 horsepower, up 30 over the previous V12 used in the DB11 and 127 horsepower more than the V8 variant.
Top speed of 208 mph
“Since its initial launch back in 2016, the DB11 range has matured rapidly and intelligently,” said Dr. Andy Palmer, Aston’s CEO. “With the exceptional V8 Coupe and Volante we felt the V12 could reveal more of its sporting potential, while remaining the consummate GT. By applying a suite of carefully considered performance and styling enhancements the DB11 AMR is both faster-208mph-and more precise. It’s a combination that engages and cossets in equal measure to create a dynamic and seductive new flagship for the DB11 range.”
The 2019 DB11 AMR sports exposed carbon fiber and gloss black trim and accents on the exterior. In addition to darkened window surround trim, fender vents and headlamp bezels, the DB11 AMR also has a blacked-out grille and tailpipes and rides on gloss black alloy wheels. Inside, the monotone leather and Alcantara upholstery is set off by a bold lime-colored central stripe. A leather sports steering wheel is standard.
