Edgier looking and more feature-rich, the 2018 Toyota Sienna minivan is set to debut at the New York Auto Show. Following up on a major powertrain revamp for 2017, this latest round of upgrades brings a bolder nose treatment across the lineup plus new safety and infotainment enhancements.
While details differ by trim, all Siennas feature a larger lower grille, more prominent fog lamps and SE-style lower side rockers. Less obvious but no less welcome, the SE model gains the noise-deadening laminated windshield used on the Limited, which now adds acoustic side glass.
Playing it even safer
Every member of the 2018 Sienna family will come with the Toyota Safety Sense-P (TSS-P) suite that includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist and automatic high beam headlights. All Sienna models feature the automaker’s Entune 3.0 system with navigation and App Suite Connect. The Sienna L, LE, SE and XLE grades get navigation and the LE, SE, and XLE also add Entune Audio Plus that includes Safety Connect, and Wi-Fi Connect, the latter allowing up to five mobile devices to connect using 4G LTE. The range-topping Sienna Limited comes with Entune 3.0 Premium JBL Audio (available on the SE and XLE) which adds Dynamic Navigation and Destination Assist and features a selection of “sound sweeteners” as well as Clari-Fi restoration circuitry, nine conventional speakers and a 10.1-inch subwoofer.

Ancillary tech tweaks on the 2018 Sienna include a 4.2-inc TFT multi-information display and five USB ports a well as an upgraded rear-seat entertainment system capable of streaming for Android devices. The Sienna Limited Premium grade also will offer a 360-degree Bird’s Eye View monitor. The upgraded 2018 Toyota Sienna goes on sale this fall with pricing to be announced later.
