2018 Toyota Camry: Set for Detroit reveal

UPDATE: We’ve since driven the 2018 Toyota Camry, and you’ll find our first review, official pricing and on-sale timing right here.

Toyota announced that the all-new 2018 Toyota Camry will make its debut in January at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Based on the automaker’s Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), the next Camry will have a more evocative style which is evident even in this initial image. Expect this mainstay of the Toyota lineup to roll into showrooms here in late 2017 with even better overall handling and a more accommodating interior plus the latest safety/driver-assist technologies.

While its dimensions may expand a bit, the 2018 Camry will continue to rival the Chevrolet MalibuHonda AccordHyundai Sonata and Nissan Altima in the crowded and competitive midsize sedan category. No word yet on trim grades or powertrains but there could be some significant changes underhood as well, in both conventional and hybrid models. Toyota will no doubt be leaking more details about the 2018 Camry in the weeks ahead and we’ll keep updating as new information becomes available.
