UPDATE: We now have a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek review, prices and more.
Presented globally as the XV in Geneva, the all-new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek bows in U.S.-spec at the New York Auto Show. This subcompact crossover SUV hits showrooms this summer to take on Jeep Renegade, Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-3.
To be offered in 2.0i base, Premium, and leather-lined Limited trims, the new Crosstrek is just 0.6-inch longer than the outgoing model but has a 1.2-inch longer wheelbase, which improves ride and according to Subaru gives it class-leading interior volume. The more aggressive bodywork adds new curb appeal and also brings a larger rear liftgate to ease cargo-loading. All Crosstreks will be fitted with a new, direct-injected naturally aspirated 2.0-liter boxer 4-cylinder making 152 horsepower. It will be backed by a new 6-speed manual transmission in base and Premium models and a 7-step Lineartronic CVT with paddle shifters standard in the Limited but optional on the other two.

In addition its far stronger and more rigid Subaru Global Platform, the 2018 Crosstrek boasts a more capable, comfortable and better-controlled suspension.
