Making its appearance at the Chengdu Motorshow in China, the 2018 Maserati Ghibli GranLusso sports a new look and additional features including adaptive LED headlamps. The Italian luxury automaker chose the show to underscore the importance of the Chinese market to the brand’s growth.

Among the changes on the Ghibli are a new grille with chrome bars, updated front bumper with chrome inserts, new body color side skirts and a freshened rear bumper with integrated diffuser. The exterior changes not only give the Ghibli a more contemporary look, they also help improve the car’s aerodynamic efficiency.

This midsize luxury sedan offers a choice of rear- or all-wheel drive and a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that produces 350 horsepower or 400 in the sportier S versions. In other global markets, Maserati also offers a turbodiesel putting out either 250 or 275 horsepower, depending on state of tune.

Maserati is also offering new driver assists for lane keeping, emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, as well as blindspot and pedestrian monitoring. Maserati said these new technologies will enable it at some point to offer autonomous operation of its vehicles.
