2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake teased

Jaguar will introduce a 2018 XF Sportbrake wagon to its family of vehicles this summer. The announcement regarding this more versatile version of the XF Sedan was made on the center court at Wimbledon, home of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Jaguar is the official car partner of The Championships scheduled in July, and the new Sportbrake is expected to be formally unveiled at some point during the two-week competition.

The new Sportbrake will share much with the 2018 XF Sedan, including its aluminum-intensive architecture and the new 2.0-liter gasoline-fired Ingenium 4-cylinder that makes 247 horsepower in addition to the existing 2.0-liter/180-horse 4-cylinder turbodiesel and supercharged 3.0-liter gasoline V6s that make 340 and 380 ponies.

While the sole image provides a good look at the Sportbrake’s optional panoramic glass roof, the conventional sketch and the unique chalk rendering at Wimbledon appear to confirm designer Ian Callum’s contention that  the Sportbrake’s sweeping silhouette gives it a sense of speed and sportiness. “It will bring new levels of practicality to the range without sacrificing the dynamic design and agile handling our customers expect.”
