Hyundai is adding popular features while holding or even trimming prices on some 2018 Sonata models as part of a mid-year refresh of its midsize sedan. The safety, appearance and convenience upgrades on mid- and higher-level trims and new technology packages on the 2018 Sonata give buyers up to $980 more in value. Hyundai dropped the sticker price in four specific cases.
All 2018 Sonata models designated with a “+” symbol indicate added features and they are available in dealerships now. The upgrades come quickly on the heels of the Korean automaker’s significant facelift of Sonata for the 2018 model year. Midsize car sales across most of the industry are falling as many consumers opt instead for crossovers or SUVs.
Panoramic sunroof available
The 2018 Sonata+ vehicles boost availability of Hyundai’s Advanced Driver Assist Systems across more of the lineup and the enhanced models adopt the front fascia and mesh grill from Sport models. A panoramic sunroof also is included on some top trim models and new Tech packages were added to the Sport and Limited trims.
The mid-range 2018 Sonata SEL+ and Sport+ models add enhancements including the Sport mesh grille and front fascia, dual automatic temperature control, rear vents mounted in the floor console, wireless phone charging, heated steering wheel and an automatic up/down driver window.

The Sonata SEL+ gains $580 in value with the additions while keeping its $23,700 price, while the Sonata Sport+ drops its price by $400 to $24,800. That model also added features worth more than $500 for a total gain of $950 in value, Hyundai says.
A new Sonata Sport+ with Tech Package is $25,400. The $600 upgrade from the Sonata Sport+ includes automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, Smart Cruise Control with start/stop and an electronic parking brake with auto vehicle hold.
More value on Limited models
The new Sonata Limited with Tech Package is $27,400, the same price for its previous Limited model, but new features to the car have added more than $1,000 in value. That model now has automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, Smart Cruise Control with start/stop, electronic parking brake with auto vehicle hold, Sport mesh grille and front fascia, wireless phone charging and a heated steering wheel.
A Sonata Limited with Ultimate Package+ costs $26,433, $600 cheaper than the current Limited with Ultimate Package. The + model adds a Sport mesh grille and front fascia and panoramic sunroof. Hyundai’s top-trim 2018 Sonata Limited 2.0-liter Turbo+ model cuts $550 in price to $31,900, but with new features it has a total value savings of $850. Delivery adds $885 to all prices.
