Picking up the designing cues of last year’s remake of the popular midsize sedan, the 2018 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid shares the new front end, updated interior and comes in at a base price $500 lower than the previous model.

Among the changes to the 2018 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid are the addition of blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert, while Limited models are now equipped with panoramic sunroof, bi-function LED headlights and LED interior lighting. Limited models with the Ultimate package add upgraded safety features including automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, wireless charging pad and heated steering wheel. Base models can be equipped with a safety option package that includes the automatic braking, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist.

The Sonata Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, 6-speed automatic transmission and 38 kW electric motor. A larger battery pack than the previous model helps boost city and highway fuel economy by one mpg each. Combined EPA mileage rating is 42 mpg.

Pricing starts at $25,500 for the standard model, $30,500 for the Limited and $34,350 for the Limited equipped with the Ultimate package. Delivery is $885 extra.  The vehicle is now on sale nationally at Hyundai dealerships.
