Carrying on the tradition begun last year, Ford has revealed a second Heritage Edition for its GT. For 2018, the car celebrates the second of four consecutive victories by the automaker in the classic 24-hour endurance race–a win claimed by American racing legends Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt in a Ford GT40 Mk IV built by another U.S. motorsport icon, Carroll Shelby. The 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition will make its public debut this weekend at the Pebble Beach Conours d’Elegance.
“The first Heritage edition car was a huge success, honoring our history with a modern interpretation of the (1966) Le Mans winner,” said Garen Nicoghosian, exterior design manager for the car. “Continuing with a 2018 Ford GT based on the (1967) winning GT40 Mark IV race car was simply something we needed to do.”

Like the victorious GT40 Mk IV, the 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition sports a glossy Race Red exterior with white stripes as well as an exposed carbon package. It also features No. 1 hood/door graphics, 20-inch one-piece forged-aluminum wheels in silver-satin clearcoat with black lug nuts, red brake calipers and silver rearview mirror caps.

Inside, the ’67 Heritage Edition wraps its one-piece carbon-fiber seats in unique ebony leather trim with bespoke cloth inserts and red accent stitching. It also features an ebony leather dash, red seatbelts, gray anodized paddle shifters on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, exposed matte carbon fiber accents and satin dark stainless steel appliques as well as a custom serialized identification plate. Like other GT models, the 2018 GT Heritage Edition will be powered by a 647-horse/3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6. While noting quantities of this latest Heritage Edition will be “limited,” Ford did not state the exact number it would build.
