Set to raise the appeal of its slick, rear-drive sport coupe, the 2017 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow will be heading into showrooms sometime next year. Based on a top-line Premium version of the facelifted and revamped 2017 Subaru BRZ, this new Series.Yellow variation on the theme matches a distinctive bright yellow exterior with the enthusiast-focused mechanical tweaks found in the BRZ’s new Performance Package.

Setting off its high-profile paint, the BRZ Series.Yellow features a black finish on its folding outside mirrors, badging and bespoke 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the car has black leather/Alcantara upholstery with yellow stitching. The cabin also sports a yellow embroidered BRZ logo on the front seatbacks and custom black/yellow floor mats with the BRZ logo stitched in silver.
Tauter suspension
As for hardware enhancements, the Series.Yellow leverages the BRZ’s newly reinforced structure, revamped stability control system and Torsen limited-slip differential with the same higher-rate springs, Sachs shock absorbers and beefier anti-roll bars found in the Performance Package. That upfit also mandates a 6-speed manual transmission, which in turn brings a higher-output version of the BRZ’s 2.0-liter engine 4-cylinder engine rated at 205 horsepower and 156 lb-ft compared to the 200/151 numbers it develops when backed by a 6-speed automatic. Rounding out the mix is a 4.3:1 rear axle ratio to improve the BRZ’s off-the-line accelerative snap.
