Introducing a stylish touch to complement its versatility, the facelifted 2017 Nissan Versa Note debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The modest makeover on this spacious subcompact 5-door hatch starts with a bolder fascia incorporating Nissan’s “V-Motion” grille design. That signature element is now flanked by more contemporary-looking halogen headlamps. Other exterior tweaks on the Versa Note S Plus, SV and SL models include a sportier rear fascia formerly reserved for the Note SR as well as new wheel-cover (S Plus and SV) and alloy wheel (SL) designs. Rounding out the changes is the addition of Monarch Orange and Deep Blue Pearl paint schemes.
Responding to owner input, Nissan also revised the Versa Note’s passenger compartment. Key changes include bigger cupholders, adding a second 12V powerpoint to the SV, SR and SL trim grades and relocating the primary 12V outlet as well as the USB port to the front of the center console. While all versions of the Versa Note retain the same 109-horsepower 4-cylinder engine that drives the front wheels through an Xtronic CVT automatic, Nissan says it retuned the D-step Logic Control to allow the transmission to provide a more natural feeling when accelerating.

Pricing for the 2017 Nissan Versa Note 1.6 S Plus Xtronic starts at $16,345. Moving up the line, the Versa Note SV opens at $17,245, the Versa Note SR kicks off at $18,845 and the leather-lined, Navi-equipped Versa Note SL commands $19,575. All will be arriving in showrooms later this month.
