Adding a new level of performance to the largest member of its family, Mini has taken the wraps off of the 2017 John Cooper Works Clubman which debuts at the Paris Motor Show. This slick 5-passenger compact wagon follows the classic JCW formula by matching a powerful engine with enthusiast-focused upgrades, including the latest version of the automaker’s ALL4 all-wheel-drive system.
Motivation for this new JCW Clubman comes from the most potent engine in Mini’s arsenal. Its 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder cranks out 228 horsepower, the same as the JCW-spec engine in the Cooper S Hardtop and Convertible and 39 more ponies than you’ll find in the base Cooper S.
More torque
In this latest Clubman variation, maximum torque has been raised from 236 to 258 lb-ft – the most ever for any Mini to wear a JCW badge. Backed by either its standard 6-speed manual or optional 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic with shifter paddles and aided by Launch Control, the new JCW Clubman sprints to 60 mph in 6.0 seconds.

Stopping power is supplied by Brembo brakes with 4-piston front calipers while standard 225/40 tires are mounted on black-finish 18-inch JCW Grip Spoke alloy wheels. A 19-inch alternative wrapped in 225/35 rubber is available.
Performance never looked this good
Like other John Cooper Works models, the exterior of the JCW Clubman features more aggressive aero-enhancing front and rear fascias as well as custom side sills and a roof spoiler.
