Jeep is adding a new dash of distinction to its most affordable model with the introduction of the 2017 Renegade Deserthawk Limited Edition and Altitude models. Both make their first public appearances at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Jeep Renegade Deserthawk Limited Edition
Based on the adventure-oriented/Trail Rated Trailhawk model, the Jeep Renegade Deserthawk matches distinctive design cues with greater functionality. Available in Alpine White, Anvil, Black or the Deserthawk-exclusive Mojave Sand set off with custom hood and rear-panel graphics, this new variation boasts 17-inch black-finish wheels and rock rails plus the Trailer Tow Group with a Class III hitch. The limited-edition Renegade Deserthawk also features exclusive cabin trim highlighted by black leather seats with Light Frost stitching and accents plus all-weather floor mats and a cargo tray mat.

Like the standard Trailhawk, the Deserthawk is fitted with a 180-horsepower/2.4-liter 4-cylinder Tigershark/MultiAir2 engine backed by a 9-speed automatic transmission and matched with the Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system that includes a 20:1 crawl ratio. Also in the mix is the Select-Terrain system with exclusive Rock mode, Hill Descent Control, underbody skid plates and an off-road suspension that provides 8.7-inches of ground clearance along with 8.1 inches of travel. The 2017 Jeep Renegade Deserthawk goes on sale in January opening at $29,135.
Jeep Renegade Altitude
Jeep is extending its popular Altitude trim to the Renegade for 2017 with a distinctive black-accent package offered on the popular Latitude model. Buyers can choose from any available exterior color, but all get set off with 18-inch Gloss Black wheels and a selection of Gloss Black trim bits. That noir-theme carries over to the passenger compartment where black premium cloth upholstery is complemented by High Gloss Black and Metal Diamond accents.

The Renegade Altitude can be had with either the 160-horsepower/1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo four paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or the 180-horse/2.4-liter Tigershark with MultiAir2 engine teamed with the 9-speed automatic. On sale later this month, the 2017 Jeep Renegade Altitude opens at $23,385.
