Shortly after announcing a new Value Edition for its entry-level Accent, Hyundai has introduced a similar model in its compact Elantra family which was fully redesigned for 2017. Based on the Elantra SE and opening at $21,085, the automaker says the additional features found on the 2017 Elantra Value Edition reflect a $1,215 savings over what they’d cost if purchased separately. Hyundai’s Product Planning Manager, Mike Evanoff feels the comprehensive upgrade bundle positions the Value Edition “at a real sweet spot on the spectrum of amenities and price tag.”
Key Elantra Value Edition features include a power driver’s seat with adjustable lumbar support, heated front seats, a 7-inch Display Audio system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also included are dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity key with push button start, power glass sunroof, Bluetooth, hands-free Smart Trunk release, auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob and LED running lamps. On the safety front, the Elantra Value Edition also boasts Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross-traffic Alert and Lane-Change Assist functions.

The remainder of the 2017 Elantra lineup – which includes the SE, Eco, Sport and Limited sedans as well as the Elantra GT hatch – also benefits, as all now come with Bluetooth as well as cruise control. The range-topping Elantra Limited adds new HID headlights with corner-following Dynamic Bending Light to its roster of standards.
