Honda has begun delivering its all-new 2017 Clarity Fuel Cell sedan, with the first six being presented to customers at a ceremony held at the American Honda Motor Co, Inc. headquarters in Torrance, California. Each went to an individual who’d previously owned its Clarity FCX predecessor and who’d also regularly provided Honda with real-world feedback the automaker will use to improve the user experience for its upcoming fuel-cell-powered vehicles.
Although these initial Clarity Fuel Cell models all were acquired through the six participating Honda dealerships in Southern California, the leasing program is now fully operational in six other Golden State Honda stores, including five in the Bay Area and one in Sacramento. Boasting a formidable list of standard equipment, room for five and a ZEV best-in-class EPA range of 366 miles, the introductory lease deal on the 2017 Clarity Fuel Cell runs $369 a month for 36 months with $2,868 due at signing and includes a 20,000-mile annual allowance. That figure includes up to $15,000 worth of hydrogen fuel and up to 21 days of an Avis Luxury Rental in California along with 24/7 roadside assistance and eligibility for the coveted California "White Sticker" single-occupant HOV access.

"The Honda Clarity Fuel Cell has arrived as the next big leap forward in electric drive mobility, with next-generation style, fun-to-drive performance and customer comfort," said Steve Center, Honda’s vice president of the Environmental Business Development Office. "In the year ahead, we will continue the rollout of the new Clarity series of electrified vehicles, to include battery-electric and plug-in hybrid models."
