Pricing of the 2017 Bolt EV will be $37,495 before federal tax breaks, GM announced, which sets the effective base price of the vehicle at $29,995 after the $7,500 credit. The MSRP includes destination charges. The pricing follows an earlier announcement where the Bolt EV exceeds the promised 200 mile range by 38 miles.
“Value is a hallmark for Chevrolet and the pricing of the Bolt EV proves we’re serious about delivering the first affordable EV with plenty of range for our customers, said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and leader of Global Chevrolet. “We have kept our promise yet again, first on range and now on price.”

The base LT trim level include such standard features as rear vision camera, 10.2-inch diagonal color touch screen, Regen on Demand paddles to control regenerative braking and Michelin self-sealing tires. Premier models, which include all LT equipment, also have front and rear heated seats with leather upholstery, surround camera and rear camera mirror. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is expected to go on sale just before the end of the calendar year.
The announcement makes the Bolt EV the first electric to offer more than 200 miles range for less than $40,000 before tax credits. Tesla is promising similar pricing and a 215 range from its upcoming Model 3 sedan which is slated to bow sometime in 2017.
