Volkswagen has announced a new Limited Edition version of the Golf SportWagen, a feature-rich, high-value alternative to the existing SportWagen S and SE models. Arriving in dealers later this month, the Limited Edition opens at $25,815 and slides neatly between the base S that starts at $22,445 – or $23,545 with automatic transmission – and the auto-only SE that llists at $27,845.

In addition to its 170-horsepower/1.8-liter turbocharged TFSI engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, the car features VW’s new MIB II infotainment system that comes with VW-Car Net App-Connect and supports Android Auto/Apple CarPlay/MirrorLink. The Golf SportWagen Limited Edition also adds to the S-spec standard equipment roster with SE items like V-Tex leatherette upholstery in place of cloth, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry/pushbutton starting and upsized 17-inch alloy wheels. The Golf SportWagen Limited Edition also features Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist) and adds chrome window trim and a “Limited” badge on the front fenders.
